Responsibilities:

  1. Provide value added assistance with compensation programs.  This includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Participate in the planning, design, implementation and administration of cash compensation and reward program compensation
  • Participate in the successful completion of the annual merit planning process.
  • Recommend enhancements and changes to compensation programs to improve administrative procedures, workflow efficiencies aligning programs to achieve corporate goals
  • Conduct internal and external research and analysis on a variety of compensation issues.  Research, analyze and propose resolutions to compensation related issues consulting with experts and management for advice or approval on escalated issues
  • Participate in and conduct salary surveys including the analysis of survey data and maintenance of salary survey database
  • Provide guidance and support to management and staff in the administration and interpretation of compensation guidelines and pay practices
  • Partner with managers and HR Generalists in the creation and revision of job descriptions.  Ensure that new and revised job descriptions are posted to the intranet.  Create new job codes in the system and process Job Action Forms
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining compensation-related data in HRIS system. Coordinate with HRIS to ensure the personnel/payroll system is updated with appropriate information

 

  1. Provide assistance in the administration and communication of benefit plans and programs.  This includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for effective administration and communication of benefit programs including, medical, dental, vision life, AD&D, short and long term disability, tuition assistance, FSA account, Health and Wellness program, FMLA, COBRA and the 401(k) plan in accordance with plan provisions and legal regulations
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and other regulations that may govern benefit plans and administration
  • Act as a liaison between the Company and benefit carriers/vendors to ensure effective administration as well as the identification and resolutions of problems
  • Coordinate new hire communication and enrollment for benefits and assist with annual Open Enrollment implementation.  Conduct benefit orientations and open enrollment meetings; perform data input and procedure for new hire, qualifying events and annual enrollments.  Answer employee benefit questions, assist with problem resolution, provide service satisfaction to customers and strive to continuously improve service delivery
  • Responsible for processing complex FMLA policies and practices.  Must stay current with latest legislative changes and be able to identify overlapping laws to determine applicable leave law in the correct order (FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation).  Counsel HR and employees regarding leaves and potential implications.  Facilitate communication between employee, HR staff, manager and disability carriers
  • Assist management with research on competitive plan offerings, evaluate trends, analyze plan features and plan utilization and assess cost implication of plan changes.
  • Gather data for preparation of 5500s for the welfare and pension plans
  • Calculate, verify and process benefit invoices accurately and on time.  Gather benefit census and utilization data and assist in cost/utilization analysis report preparation.  Gather data or create and generate ad hoc reports as needed
  • Coordinate health fairs

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 4+ years experience in comp and benefits
  • Knowledge of base and variable compensation systems, job evaluation techniques, market surveys and compensation administration
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws pertinent to benefits administration including FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, 401(k), Worker’s Comp. FLSA, etc.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation preferred
  • Ability to use software and peripherals related to performance of job responsibilities (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Communication (written, verbal and listening), process management, analytical, decision making, organizational, project management, negotiating, time management
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow through
  • Ability to implement changes effectively throughout organization
  • Ability to facilitate teams and client relationships to satisfy needs and identify improvements
