Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CASC)
Location: Bristow, VA
Salary: $80,000

Hours: Full?time; specific days may vary based on program needs
Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule, and implement all substance-use-related services for residents
• Conduct intake assessments using bio/psycho/social/spiritual models
• Determine appropriate level of care using ASAM criteria
• Administer and interpret SASSI (or equivalent) assessments
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling
• Facilitate chemical education and 12?step–based groups
• Document all services in the electronic health record (Kipu)
• Conduct and supervise random alcohol and drug screenings
• Track attendance and maintain compliance with state standards (DBHDS & DSS)
• Create relapse prevention plans for residents and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and participate in required trainings
• Support the residential program’s mission and structured environment
Required Qualifications
• Certification and/or licensure recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia (minimum: CSAC)
• Master’s degree with licensure or eligibility (LSATP, LMHP, or LMHP?E) preferred
• Knowledge of drug screening procedures, ASAM Criteria, and substance abuse treatment practices
• Strong clinical writing and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and staff
• Dependability and flexibility, including occasional evenings/weekends
