Job Summary:
The Accounting Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the accounting team with various clerical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about basic accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry tasks for accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in preparing and processing invoices
- Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, and responding to emails.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and take directions from senior accounting staff.
- Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus.
- Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably within an accounting or finance department.
Work Environment:
- Office setting, with standard hours Monday to Friday.
