RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and oversee the completeness and accuracy of monthly books and records using RealPage accounting software
- Supervise accounts payable and corporate accounting team (3 direct reports) to ensure timely deliverables to management and ownership
- Monitor monthly budget to actual reports and provide management and ownership with written explanations for variances
- Coordinate with property managers to ensure timely delivery of Accounting Month-End reporting and incorporate their input when closing the properties’ books each month
- Manage annual audits and our external reporting requirements with our lenders
- Help improve the Company’s written process narratives, procedures, and internal controls
- Maintain clean schedules for management fees, reserves, escrows, payroll allocations, etc.
- Oversee cash management function; perform monthly cash reconciliations, approve weekly check-runs, track all intercompany cash movements, and maintain cash flow dashboards
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- 7+ years’ experience (2 + years in the real estate industry)
- Experience with RealPage accounting software is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy
