Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our growing manufacturing company. This individual will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing environments and hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This is a key leadership role, critical to supporting strategic decision-making and driving operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and forecasting.
  • Manufacturing Accounting: Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to support accurate product costing and margin analysis.
  • ERP System Management: Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the ERP system, ensuring its alignment with financial reporting and operational goals.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and periodic forecasts. Provide insight into financial trends and performance metrics.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and internal controls. Oversee the preparation for audits and resolve any discrepancies identified.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide key financial analysis to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improved profitability and cost savings.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to handle their responsibilities. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial reporting, budgeting, and overall financial management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management within a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP Experience: Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite) in a manufacturing setting.
  • Manufacturing Expertise: In-depth understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial controls specific to a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with other financial software and reporting tools.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing financial consolidation for multi-location operations.
  • Knowledge of international financial regulations if applicable.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
