Pay: $18-20/hour

Schedule: 40 hours per week, must be flexible to work 8-hour shift between the below times, must work 1 early morning and one late shift per week

Friday 7AM-5PM

Requirements:?
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of Front Desk experience in healthcare setting
Knowledge in any EMR (practice uses eClinicalWorks, NaviNet, Helio ? training provided)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing patient flow in the office by moving patients through a predetermined task list to fulfill the requirements set forth by the practice to complete the schedule of daily appointments
  • Greets all patients and visitors when they arrive, confirming their name and who their appointment is with
  • Confirm that the patient has arrived within their appointment window, and communicates late arrivals to the physician / MA staff for authorization to see a late arrival patient
  • Answers patient questions and provides appropriate assistance when necessary
  • Issues correct hard-copy intake paperwork and logs patients into the kiosk to complete any additional electronic intake forms including all new Covid-19 consent forms, office policies, and other legally required documents
  • Collects and verifies all insurance cards for all patients, including scanning card images into patient charts and making necessary updates in patient chart
  • Accurately enters all demographic information into the patient?s Hub and Info section in the EMR
  • Verifies all information in the EMR including current insurance ID numbers, emergency contact information, and pharmacy information received from the patient for accuracy, and all additional required structured data fields being completed
  • Collects all co-pays, co-insurance, and any balance due on account
  • Discusses patient?s insurance or refers to billing department if further explanation is required on balance due questions
  • Monitors the flow of patient check-in / check-out and keeps patients informed of delays
  • Obtains necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records utilizing OBERD Control Panel
  • Collects and scans pertinent patient information into the EMR including image discs / reports, patient authorizations, test results, and recent labs delivered by patient, etc.
  • Obtains patient authorization for medical records release while maintaining HIPAA compliance standards
  • Checks-out patient after their appointment and schedules follow-up appointments or procedure for patients based on the Physician/PA/NP?s availability per doctor?s request
  • Provides the patient with all necessary paperwork and instructions upon check-out for procedures, prescriptions, or therapy as ordered by the doctor
  • Notifies the doctor?s secretary of any tests or follow-up appointments requiring authorizations
  • Maintain a payment log to assist in balancing of daily deposits
  • Fields interoffice phone calls and responds to emails / communications from physicians and staff
  • Monitor and clear the fax inbox, assigning documents to the appropriate secretary
  • Prepares charts according daily and / or weekly schedule ensuring all records are accurate and available prior to next visit
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of timesheets / time records for hours worked and payroll processing ? time records must be completed and approved by employee no later than close of business on last day of each pay period
  • Responsible for timely completion of all new hire training, departmental training, and yearly compliance training on an ongoing basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the office manager as per business needs
