RESPONSIBILITIES
The Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and communication of audits of the company’s internal control environment as well as performing operational audits, investigations, and special projects under the direction of the Director, Internal Audit. The Audit Manager must be able to work independently yet effectively with others, collaborate, advise, instruct, persuade, mediate, and confront difficult issues.
- Leads the company in maintaining and improving an internal control environment that both satisfies government requirements and maximizes efficiency.
- Responsible for annual testing of the functioning of the internal control environment according PCAOB standards in an effective and efficient manner.
- Maintains a close professional relationship and liaison with the company’s independent auditor.
- Performs financial and operational internal audits, consulting, and special projects.
- Conducts planning, fieldwork, and reporting procedures remotely and onsite for US based and international locations.
- Prepares audit reports and work papers in accordance with department guidelines.
- Demonstrate a confident and effective communication style, both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear understanding of audit issues and influences change where appropriate.
- Upgrades their knowledge though regular training events, conferences, and IIA events.
- Participates in various external organizations and maintains contacts with peers with the audit community to current on developing trends, tools, and issues.
- Identify ways where the audit function can positively impact the business.
- Providing additional help and guidance to the business on a consultancy basis.
- Travel as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A master’s degree is a plus.
- CIA, CPA and prior Big 4 or other recognized firm experience a plus.
- Approximately 4 – 8 years of experience in Big 4, other recognized firm, internal audit, or a combination.
- Work both independently and in a team environment, shifting between the role of an individual contributor, collaborator, and project manager.
- Display advanced proficiency with Microsoft and other leading office applications.
- Working in an Oracle or similar environment a plus.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal, written, and presentation, with the ability to communicate effectively within various levels of the company including senior level management.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, tolerance for uncertainty, and ability to be agile and adaptable.
- Exhibit the ability to thrive in a demanding environment and manage multiple projects and resources effectively.
