Position: Legal Assistant

Location: Fairfax, VA 22030

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000

Job Summary

Join our dynamic team in Fairfax, VA, as a full-time Legal Assistant, supporting the Criminal Defense practice. This role involves a blend of administrative and legal support, contributing to the firm’s growth and success. The position requires in-office presence for 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform administrative and client service functions.
  • Maintain attorney calendars.
  • Assist in drafting and completing necessary documentation.
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as phone calls, emails, and office support.
  • Manage client relations responsibilities as assigned.
  • Support with caseload duties, including case file management, document preparation, court filings, research, and status updates.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong administrative experience required.
  • Prior criminal defense experience preferred.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office and G-Suite.
  • Must pass a background check.

Compensation Details

  • Compensation: $50,000-$60,000.
  • 20% fee, with a 60-day guarantee.
  • Payment split: 50% at 30 days, 50% at 60 days.
  • Faster payment option: Second half upon successful placement for quicker compensation.

Note

Candidates must be local, within driving distance to the office, and available to work in-office for 4 hours per week. Limited exposure to litigation is acceptable for solid legal assistants, and experience or interest in criminal law is a plus.
