Litigation Legal Assistant

We are expanding our Business Litigation Group in our Worcester office with an added position for an experienced Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA).

Position Summary

The Litigation LAA will be responsible for a diverse range of administrative and legal support tasks and will work closely with attorneys and other staff. This includes all aspects of client cases, drafting legal documents, assembling and filing motions, proofreading, and e-filing. This is an opportunity for someone with prior litigation experience who is looking for a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Schedule

  • Full-Time, with potential for one remote workday per week after training

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for attorneys in Business Litigation.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit a variety of legal documents, including motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Assemble and file legal motions and other documents with the court.
  • Coordinate and track multiple deadlines, ensuring all are met in a timely manner.
  • Engage in electronic filing (e-filing) with local, state, and federal courts.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Perform general clerical tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and data entry.
  • Adhere to the firm’s policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, particularly in litigation.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
  • Familiarity with court filing systems, both electronic and paper.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
