Physical Therapist – $55/hr

  • Comp: $50-$60/hr DOE
  • Hours: Fully time hours 35+
  • MSPT required, DPT preferred 

Primary Function:

Provide physical therapy assessments, reassessments, screens and interventions to PACE participants to promote and maximize physical and functional mobility

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct initial physical therapy evaluations, reassessments, and screens of PACE participants in accordance with PACE guidelines
  • Educate and supervise staff, participants and family members regarding physical therapy rehabilitation principles
  • Conduct home safety and community re-entry assessments
  • Order durable medical equipment and recommend environmental modifications to maximize functional mobility within the home
  • Provide adequate documentation including but not limited to safety evaluations, assessments, screens, treatment plans, progress notes in accordance with PACE guidelines
  • Participate in daily and weekly clinical team meetings
  • Foster participant confidentiality
  • Contribute to quality improvement committees and program development projects
  • Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately
  • Participate in rehabilitation meetings
  • Delegate and implement appropriate treatment plans for Physical Therapy Assistants and Restorative Aides
  • Actively seek opportunities for professional growth as a physical therapist in the adult and geriatric population
  • Performs duties as requested by Supervisor

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts license
  • CPR certification
  • 2-3 years clinical experience working with chronically ill, cognitively impaired, frail geriatric population preferred
  • Bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese Creole a plus
  • Able to perform the following core tasks as determined on a case by case basis:
  • Lift 50+lbs; lift and carry 25+lbs; push/pull 50-100 lbs
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat intermittently
  • Able to document in medical record
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Able to work within a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Supervise Home Health Aides regarding appropriate physical therapy interventions
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants or Restorative Aides
