The Cost Accountant/Analyst is responsible for all Cost Accounting and Inventory related functions. This position develops Product Costing, as well as cost for all manufactured and distributed items. This position also assists in the development of budgets and financial reporting, along with performing systems analysis to ensure proper financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES to include but not limited to:
· Implement policies and procedures to properly record transactions.
· Develop standard costs, labor rates, and overhead rates to be used in costing of manufactured and distributed products.
· Ensure bills of materials (BOMs) and routings are updated to reflect the most recent and current standards and operations.
· Monitor BOMs & routings to ensure proper reporting of production output and performance.
· Analysis of cost of goods sold including; Direct Labor Absorbed, Manufacturing Overhead Absorbed, WIP Variance, Overhead Variance and Labor Variance accounts.
· Monitor and analyze product line profitability.
· Monitor and improve system infrastructure in all manufacturing modules.
· Ensure transaction integrity throughout the manufacturing process.
· Analysis of balance sheet accounts focusing on inventory accounts.
· Development of financial metrics and productivity reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent degree.
· Progressive experience in Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis.
· Experience in ERP and manufacturing systems.
· Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
· Competency in MS Office applications including Excel and databases.
