Job Summary:
Our Client in the greater Boston region is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join the growing Accounting & Finance team. This role reports to our Accounting Manager and is responsible for supporting accounting functions including accruals, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and general ledger management. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company.
The position will be based in our Boston office and follow a hybrid work schedule of 2 days remote, 3 days in the office.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Record bank activity daily to reconcile cash accounts mid-month and at month end for properties and personal bank accounts.
  • Calculate management fee income for properties prior to month end close.
  • Assist in reconciling company credit card and recording journal entries to reflect intercompany balances between our company and properties.
  • Maintain a prepaid schedule to record periodic expenses for subscriptions and insurance policies.
  • Add new fixed assets to platform to properly track and record depreciation monthly.
  • Reconcile brokerage accounts monthly.
  • Reconcile tenant security deposits.
  • Work with property managers on monthly forecasting.
  • Support annual audit by compiling necessary documentation.
  • Assist AP Director maintaining AP inbox.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting team on ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 2+ year of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with RealPage or NetSuite preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to solve problems & take initiative.
  • Outstanding time management skills, with proven ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities effectively.
  • Sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
