Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and assist with preparation and review of the year-end and quarterly tax provisions (ASC 740) and interact with outside advisors. The role will primarily be domestic-focused and involve computation and/or review of book-to-tax differences, state calculations, tax account reconciliations, data entry into OneSource Tax Provision, and preparation of 10-K and 10-Q tax disclosures.
- Maintain quarterly tax computations, including the tax impact of stock-based compensation (RSUs) and uncertain tax positions, and understand and apply the impact of purchase accounting.
- Manage the U.S. compliance process, ensuring filing deadlines are met and data is provided accurately and timely to the outside service provider for preparation of tax forms. This will include high-level review of federal and state tax returns/proformas, detailed review of tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments, monitoring tax information requests and responses, and overseeing the tax calendar (income tax filings, unclaimed property, Form 1042).
- Research federal and state tax issues and ensure timely responses to tax notices.
- Interact with key members of the Corporate Office (Accounting, Treasury, Legal) and domestic controllers, providing tax assistance when needed (sales tax guidance, Form W-9/W-8BEN-E reporting, tax data for legal filings).
- Maintain and enhance effective tax controls.
Experience
- 18+ years of total tax experience in a large corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4, or combination
- Extensive knowledge of ASC 740 and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OneSource Tax Provision
- Extensive knowledge of corporate tax law, both federal and state
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to research complex issues
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA and MST preferred
