Charge Nurse | Oncology Infusion Services | Concord, MA
*13 week contract with possible extensions and/or permanent opportunities
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm, 36 hours, 9x4s, no weekends, no call.
Pay: $60-$64/hr
Summary:

  • The Clinical Lead, along with the Director of the Naka Infusion Center, is responsible for the operations of the Naka Infusion Unit.
  • The Clinical Lead participates with the nursing team in care planning and delivery, utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care, in accordance with the stated philosophy and objectives of the Nursing Service Department.
  • The Clinical Lead reports directly to the Director of Naka.
  • The Clinical Lead will work clinical shifts as Charge Nurse and perform administrative duties.

Job Functions:

  • Assumes responsibility with the Director, for management of the entire unit, including adequate staffing patterns.
  • Requires flexibility and adaptability to ensure unit is always staffed appropriately.
  • Assigns personnel, as necessary and in congruence with their skills to optimize patient care.
  • Functions in the role of charge nurse when working clinically. 
  • Prepares and maintains Nursing and PCT schedules.
  • With the Nurse Director of Naka and Nurse Educator, develops and revises procedures and policies in accordance with best practices. Follows established hospital guidelines for developing and implementing new policies. 
  • In collaboration with the Director, evaluates staff performance based on developed standards. Utilizes hospital performance review tool to write and deliver assigned annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of staff, including constructive counseling, and goal setting to optimize staff performance.
  • Promotes professional development of staff.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication in all areas of responsibility.
  • Provides and/or assists in direct patient care.
  • Works with the Nurse Director and Nurse Educator to schedule and monitor orientation of new staff.
  • Participates in hospital committees and programs, as appropriate.
  • Assumes responsibility with the Director of the Nursing Unit for optimal maintenance and utilization of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains and supports patient’s rights to care, privacy, and respect.

Requirements:

  • MA RN License
  • BLS
  • Education: – Graduate of an accredited professional nursing school required.
  • BSN preferred. – Education or coursework in business, health administration, or public health preferred
