The Contracts Specialist supports a corporate legal department and reports to the General Counsel. As a member of the legal team, the Contracts Specialist will contribute their expertise in transactional matters such as purchase and sale contracts, non-disclosure agreements, statutory research, corporate governance and compliance matters, insurance, letters of credit, and related administrative tasks.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Ability to prepare, submit and maintain company contractor and engineering licenses.
- Ability to review terms and conditions for various types of agreements and letters of credit, with attorney support.
- Understand and apply basic legal principles for various agreements and document preparation, with attorney support.
- Coordinate insurance matters with the Corporate Risk Manager including claims, certificates of insurance, and annual insurance renewals..
- Provide administrative support to the Legal Department including the following:
- Maintain the Legal Department database including uploading and tracking documents?
- Prepare meeting minutes for executive staff meetings and contract review meetings; and
- Provide notary services.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Position Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, including legal and commercial implications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and/or construction industry practices and legal standards is preferred.
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain superior attention to detail and quality.
- Able to communicate effectively by written and verbal means.
- Must be a self-starter and proactive in performing tasks.
- Must be able to work well independently and work effectively in a group setting.
- Appreciation of and professional maturity to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree. Exemplary academic achievement.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a paralegal or contracts specialist.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Word, Adobe and Excel applications.
