Job Title: Bookkeeper
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our organization. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various financial tasks. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software will contribute to the smooth financial operations of our company.
Responsibilities:
Record and maintain financial transactions: Process accounts payable, accounts receivable transactions and payroll.
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and update financial spreadsheets. Perform bank reconciliations: Verify and reconcile bank statements with internal financial records. Identify and resolve discrepancies or irregularities in a timely manner. Monitor account receivable and collections: Track outstanding customer invoices and follow up with customers on overdue payments. Reconcile accounts receivable aging with general ledger.
Coordinate with clients or vendors regarding payment-related inquiries or issues.Reconcile the accounts payable aging with the general ledger. Provide assistance to the Controller in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist the Controller with budgeting and forecasting: Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Adhere to relevant accounting principles, policies, and guidelines. Maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with utmost confidentiality and discretion. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Education and Certifications:
- An Associates degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Public Bookkeeper) are a plus.
Experience:
- Bookkeeping 5+ years (Preferred)
