Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our finance team at a leading food manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management within the food manufacturing industry and possess advanced expertise in NetSuite to drive efficiency and accuracy across financial reporting and accounting processes.
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with all accounting regulations, managing financial reporting, and partnering with senior leadership to support business growth and financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory management.
- Manage and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts, working closely with operations, sales, and production teams to drive financial planning and analysis.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with company goals and operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards, especially regarding food manufacturing and production.
- Review and refine internal controls to improve financial accuracy, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance.
- Utilize NetSuite ERP system to enhance financial data integrity, automate financial reporting, and streamline workflows across departments.
- Collaborate with external auditors during year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Prepare cost analysis and margin reports to help identify areas for cost control and operational efficiencies in the manufacturing process.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support company growth and profitability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 3 years in a controller position in a food manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience using NetSuite ERP system; familiarity with food manufacturing modules and workflows is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and best practices in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools for analysis and reporting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA designation.
- Experience with advanced features of NetSuite (e.g., financial modules, reporting, and automation).
