A leader in metal industry is seeking a cost accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Cost

Oversee the custom accounting and job cost shop floor system, plan and recommend improvements coordinating upgrades with software representatives, as needed.
Process job cost transfers, maintain accurate work in process, inventory and cost of sales reporting. Establish and maintain labor overhead rates and inventory costs.
Perform period-end close for accounting system, prepare reconciliations to ensure accuracy, maintain coordination between accounting system and cost accounting system, and ensure the timely completion of monthly account reconciliations
Lead the annual physical inventory, revaluation, and year-end reporting for audit purposes

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
5+ years of cost accounting experience, including absorption costing experience
Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Strong attention to detail with excellent, oral and written communication, organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization and people skills
Microsoft Office, SharePoint and time management software proficiency required
Familiarity with AccountMate is a plus
