Director of Infectious Disease (Physician)

Salary: $164,800 – $241,000

Full time OR Part time

Hours of Operation
Mon-Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday 9:30am – 5:00pm
(closed daily for lunch from 12:30pm to 1:00pm)

PURPOSE

As the infectious disease clinical leader in the department, provide clinical and operational oversight of the Ryan White program and consulting services to the organization regarding the care and treatment to patients with, or at risk of contracting, infectious diseases. Develop, implement, and maintain systems for monitoring and continuously improving clinical outcomes for patients with infectious diseases.   Supervise the day-to-day clinical activities of infectious disease providers and support staff in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the clinic, or as required by the Clinical Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained.  Lead by example in the delivery of effective and efficient patient care.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Minimum education and experience required:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical and an accredited residency program in a relevant clinical discipline
  • Board-certification in Infectious Disease
  • Valid State of Connecticut license as a physician
  • Two (2) years of successful experience as a practicing infectious disease physician
  • CPR certification at the healthcare provider level or eligible to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
  • CPT-4 and ICT-10 coding experience
  • One (1) year of clinical administrative management experience.
Preferred knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification:
  • Five (5) years of experience practicing as an infectious disease physician in an inpatient or outpatient setting
  • Three (3) years of administrative management experience
  • One (1) year of experience managing or administering grant-funded programs
  • Experience working with socioeconomically diverse populations
  • Strong community health/public health orientation
  • Familiarity with federally qualified health centers
