Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Reporting: Responsible for all accounting functions
including AR, AP, payroll, GL, job costing, and cash management. Prepare monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with company
policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Generate and review financial reports for management, providing insight into
financial performance, trends, and analyzing data to drive opportunities for
improvement. Analyze subcontractors’ confidential financial information for
enrollment in Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI).
Department Leadership: Daily involvement with all accounting team members,
providing ongoing assistance, leadership, training, and development to ensure team
efficiency and a collaborative working environment.
Project Costing: Review the financial analysis of ongoing construction projects,
including job costing, labor analysis, and allocation of indirect costs. Ensure
accurate tracking and reporting of all project costs. Work with project teams on
monthly requisitions and reporting requirements.
External Relations: Liaison to external auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers,
and various business partners.
Internal Relations: Serve as a vital resource and key liaison between the
accounting department and project teams. Collaborate on a range of tasks,
including monthly owner requisitions, job costing, and ad-hoc reporting
requirements.
Strategic Projects: Support the CFO and executive management with various
projects that require detailed financial analysis and opportunities to pioneer
technology platforms to improve efficiency within various departments.
Human Resources: Work with CFO to ensure compliance with current and
upcoming labor laws and regulations. Assist in the coordination and review of
benefits and responsible for onboarding of employees.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent
preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a
managerial or supervisory role within the construction industry preferred but not
required.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry financials, including project cost
accounting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements relevant to the
construction industry.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and mentor a
team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Sage 300 CRE, and Textura preferred but not required.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively and self-manage.
