A newly public, Boston-area life sciences company is expanding its accounting team and looking for a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day operations and help drive key improvements in their processes and controls. Reporting to a newly hired Director of Accounting, this is a high-visibility role with strong learning and growth potential as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cash reconciliations, manage fixed assets, accruals, and prepaids, and help prepare quarterly investment activity
- Process and review employee expense reports (Concur) and monthly close activities
- Assist with audit and tax prep and ensure compliance with SOX 404(b)
- Collaborate cross-functionally and support internal controls and process improvements
- Support ad hoc finance projects as the company grows
What They’re Looking For:
- 3–5+ years of experience in corporate accounting or a public/corporate hybrid
- Strong experience with accruals, prepaids, cash, fixed assets, and expense reports
- SOX compliance experience at a publicly traded company – must-have
- Experience with NetSuite (preferred) and Concur (helpful)
- Life sciences experience is a plus, but not required if you have strong general ledger experience
- Not looking for someone straight out of public—must have hands-on journal entry experience
