Production Planning Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee manufacturing resource-planning to meet sales, RONA, and 100% on-time delivery goals.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable MRP database management.
  • Monitor shipping/receiving, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes.
  • Use tracking systems (phconnect, PFEP, S&OP) and meet material metrics and performance standards.
  • Support automated systems for material flow from procurement to delivery.
  • Align location material policies with corporate inventory control goals.
  • Collaborate with divisional teams on purchasing and supplier management.
  • Support corporate initiatives like supplier-managed inventory, consolidated purchasing, and supplier quality certifications.
  • Assist with audits for planning, procurement, and inventory functions.
  • Manage department budget and drive cost reduction programs.
  • Develop materials team, promote company policies, and implement best practices.
  • Support lean principles and kanban/MRP techniques across the division.
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of purchasing/materials management experience in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Managerial experience with materials systems (supply chain, JIT, MRPII, etc.); APICS/CPM certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or materials management; certification in materials/quality preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentations).
  • Actively support and implement lean principles at the division.
  • Facilitate kanban, materials requirement planning technique, throughout division.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years applicable purchasing/materials management experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive managerial experience,  materials management systems including supply chain management, cash flow and asset management, JIT, MRPII, cellular manufacturing and with APICS/CPM certification preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or similar
