Role Summary: The Human Resource Rep will be responsible for employee relations, answering general HR/benefits questions; performance reviews, employee engagement follow up, recruiting, rewards & recognition, etc.. This position may be 24/7/on call as needed for employee related events.
This role travels as needed to company offices and facilities located in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
Responsibilities
• Provides support through training, interpretation of the CBA and daily interactions;
•
Administers HR programs, including benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management and reviews; recognition; and training and development;
•
Coordinates staffing and recruitment needs;
•
Coordinates initiatives to sustain employee engagement and well-being;
•
Advises internally on HR and compliance issues and best practices;
•
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to process and communicate information;
•
Stays abreast of current policies, regulations, and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies; and
•
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•
5 years prior/progressive experience in a human resources role (union experience is a plus);
•
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, Business or related field of study, required;
• Solid knowledge and understanding of employment laws and human resources best practices; • Strong ability to coach, advise, give feedback, and help communicate priorities to internal teams;
• Ability to stay calm under pressure/stress; • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and tact;
•
Excellent organizational skills;
•
Energetic about challenges, self-motivated and able to focus on objectives;
•
Open and professional communication skills (verbal and written, business emails, etc.) coupled with active listening skills;
•
Strong time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
•
Ability to travel as needed throughout MA, NH, VT; and
•
Excellent PC skills, including MS Office with an emphasis on SharePoint and excel.
