Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification such as SHRM
  • 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
  • Self-starter that can work independently
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to work onsite in Portland, Maine

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager:

  • Develop and implement hiring strategies and recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Oversee employee relations, addressing grievances, demands, and conflicts
  • Develop performance management programs
  • Maintain personnel and payroll files
  • Coordinate new employee orientations and exit interviewing
  • Manage compensation and benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Make recommendations and create plans for staff training and professional development
  • Establish policies supporting employee wellness and safety
  • Cultivate a positive work culture and implement effective retention initiatives
