Medical Director – Adult Medicine
Location: Multiple outpatient sites in the Bridgeport/Stamford, CT area
Setting: 100% outpatient
Schedule: Split – 60% clinical / 40% administrative
Overview
This leadership opportunity is for a practicing Primary Care Physician who’s ready to drive clinical quality and operational excellence across multiple adult medicine sites. You’ll split your time between direct patient care and high-level administrative oversight, partnering with cross-functional leadership to shape care delivery models, mentor providers, and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical (60%)

Deliver direct adult primary care services.

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based practices.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered, integrated care.
Administrative (40%)

Serve as the clinical leader for adult medicine, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.

Oversee day-to-day operations at several sites across Bridgeport and Stamford.

Mentor and supervise a team of MDs and APPs.

Monitor and drive productivity, quality metrics, and documentation compliance.

Conduct monthly peer reviews and manage performance evaluations.

Optimize EPIC workflows and team-based care protocols.

Participate in on-call leadership rotation and patient complaint resolution.

Drive clinician recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and coverage planning.

Align departmental policies with safety, compliance, and accreditation standards.
Qualifications

MD or DO with unrestricted Connecticut license.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

3–5 years of leadership experience in a community health or outpatient setting.

Active DEA license and controlled substance registration.

CPR and ACLS certification.

Experience with EPIC strongly preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, not required.

Familiarity with telemedicine is a bonus.
