Senior Tax Associate

You want to work on our Senior Associate, Tax role? Not a tax accountant, but someone who is reporting, analyzing within finance on tax, tax forecasting (not doing tax forms)

The individual in this role will be a critical member of the finance team responsible for the operations of Audax Management Company. The focus of this role will be to assist the Controller with preparing tax estimates, encompassing complex allocations and book to tax adjustments, as well as helping us to complete our annual K-1 reporting cycle. The role will work closely with senior management, other members of the management company team and with the firm’s third-party tax advisors.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills and intrinsic knowledge of both corporate and partnership tax, a professional and discreet demeanor, a flexible approach to learning and “do anything” attitude. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of both the tax estimate and K-1 processes for the management companies, comprising the quarterly production of taxable income numbers for various operational and investment vehicles within the Audax Group structure.
  • Prepare/review complex allocations of taxable income as well as evaluate corp./book numbers for potential tax adjustments.
  • Serve as a liaison between the firm, it’s internal tax team and the firms’ external tax firm, helping to compile support and answer questions as needed/appropriate.
  • Partner with members of the management company finance team to improve tax reporting and provide value add insights.
  • Play a key role in implementing best in class tax processes, implement new policies and procedures, and enhance existing processes by leveraging technology to further support the tax function.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Accounting required, with advanced degree or certification a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate or tax role, preferably in private equity or financial services, but with strong knowledge of both corporate and partnership tax nonetheless.
  • Strong understanding of IRS guidelines.
  • Technologically savvy with advanced MS Excel skills, Oracle NetSuite or equivalent.
