Pediatric Liver Transplant Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Location: New York, NY 10032
Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 (flexible based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours (not a strict 9–5; it varies but earliest is likely 8:30 am latest being 6:30 pm); no call, no weekends
Setting: Primarily onsite with flexibility for some remote admin work; occasional travel to outreach centers in the tri-state area

About the Role:
Join a nationally recognized pediatric liver transplant program within a leading academic medical center. This is a fast-paced outpatient role supporting pediatric patients with complex liver and intestinal diseases. You’ll be part of a collaborative team of NPs, PAs, and physicians within the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the medical and surgical coordination for pediatric patients undergoing liver or intestine transplant evaluation or treatment

  • Conduct patient consultations and evaluations

  • Educate patients, families, and staff on transplant-related conditions and treatments

  • Adjust medications and manage immunosuppressive therapies

  • Provide phone-based medical support to patients and referring providers

  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications and imaging

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient rounds

Qualifications:

  • For NPs:

  • Current NYS RN and NP license (FNP or PNP)

  • ANCC Board Certification

  • Master’s degree in Nursing

  • BLS & DEA certification

  • For PAs:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA or NYSED approved PA program

  • Current NYS PA license and NCCPA certification

  • BLS & DEA certification

    Preferred Background:

    • Clinical experience in outpatient primary care, surgical settings, transplant, or with complex pediatric populations

    • Ability to independently manage lab work, wound care, and collaborate with surgeons

    • Prior work experience (not suitable for new grads with no professional background)

    • Confident, mature, and able to receive constructive feedback

    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
