Production Supervisor- Spanish Speaking

The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager in leading the production team on a daily basis. The Production Supervisor is expected to work one-on-one with team members to ensure their understanding of recipes, methods, and policy expectations while working alongside them. They will complete product and goods inventory, develop prep lists, and coach the team in production –
A Supervisor should display professionalism, flexibility and openness to help.
They should be a liaison between the Kitchen Manager and the team members and help to communicate changes effectively.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the team
  • Encourage an upbeat, fun, friendly, hard working work environment
  • Train new team members on all stations; Coach existing team members on new policies and products
  • Uphold servsafe sanitary standards by promoting food safety above all else
  • Ensure physical plant is maintained, organized, and held to high cleanliness standards
  • Oversee minor staff concerns and communicate them to management when necessary
  • Delegate tasks to team members
  • Oversee shop inventory transport, ordering and receiving
  • Create daily prep lists, plan for menu changes
  • Conduct daily and weekly inventories of prep items and donuts
  • Expedite and oversee production to uphold highest quality standards
  • Help maintain equipment and immediately communicate needs regarding fixes
  • Communicate with managers

 

Qualifications

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Strong record of exceptional communication skills
  • Minimum of 2 years food service experience
  • Experience coaching and leading a team
  • Confidence, patience and composure under pressure

 

Working conditions

  • Non-standard work week, including early mornings, weekends and federal holidays
  • Standing on feet for 8-10 hours at a time
  • Lifting up to 50lbs

It’s necessary that all candidates speak and write fluently in spanish.
The entire production team uses spanish as their first language and its imperative to the role that they can communicate with their team

Must be able to commute to Somerville (Boynton yards area) before most public transportation is accessible
Saturday and Sundays are required.
Holidays required (Except christmas and thanksgiving days)
Shifts start as early as 4am
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand on feet for 8+ hours at a time
Cleanliness and reliability standards are extremely high.
Leadership experience in a food production role is required
