Patient Access Representative

Hiring for a Patient Access Representative for a company in Farmington, CT.

Call center setting. 
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $22-24/hour based on experience

  • Looking for someone with heavy billing and/or back-office/back-end experience
  • This is specifically for the billing dept. so will be fielding questions for patients calling in about bill/payments/insurance etc. 
  • MUST come from a medical office/hospital setting only
  • MUST have some prior experience with back end claim processing
  • Experience with PT/Workers comp claims is a plus! 

    Responsibilities: 

  • Triaging calls
  • Pre-certifying procedures and tests
  • Answering a heavy volume of telephone calls
  • Prepares charge tickets
  • Obtaining and/or verifying patient demographic information including health history and insurance information
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality
  • Regular communication with clinical and administrative staff

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in a medical/surgical office
  • Excellent computer skills, including Epic 
  • Superior written, oral communication, and customer service skills; able to communicate empathetically
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team
  • Able to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
