Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with the operations and supply chain teams to verify inventory and production data inputs for accuracy, addressing discrepancies and ensuring consistent information within the ERP system.
- Analyze inventory and cost transactions; ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses including breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Determine and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Analyze and review bills of material to ensure accurate product & standard costs, proposing updates to standards, as needed.
- Calculate actual overhead rates applicable to different cost centers and updates based on future budgets.
- Predict, plan, and record variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operations costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 3 years’ cost experience within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with MS Products and ERP systems, preferably Epicor
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate
- Must be eligible for employment in the US
Preferred:
- Experience with government cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
