Position Summary:
We are seeking a licensed CPA to join our team as a Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage client relationships and staff. This is a key leadership role with growth potential, including a clear path to partner for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and nonprofits

Research complex tax matters and present findings to clients and internal teams

Develop and maintain strong client relationships; act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients

Supervise, train, and mentor junior and senior staff; review their work for accuracy and compliance

Assist in managing the tax workflow during peak seasons, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery

Monitor changes in tax laws and advise clients accordingly

Support business development efforts, including networking, proposal development, and onboarding of new clients

Participate in strategic firm initiatives and process improvements

Ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:

CPA license (required)

Minimum of 5–7 years of recent public accounting experience with a focus on tax

Experience managing multiple clients across industries (experience with small business and HNW clients is a plus)

Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws and regulations

Proficiency with tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, Drake, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with tax planning strategies for closely held businesses and their owners

Familiarity with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740)
