Position Overview:
We are seeking a solid, hands-on Accountant with a background in manufacturing or food manufacturing, industry to join our growing accounting team. This role requires a professional experienced in full-cycle accounting who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. The ideal candidate is familiar with internal controls and is comfortable working within a structured ERP system—SAP strongly preferred, though experience with any large ERP will be considered. A collaborative mindset and willingness to support and guide junior team members is key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounting duties including:
- Journal entries
- Month-end and year-end close
- Accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations
- Fixed asset accounting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports
- Assist with inventory accounting and cost tracking related to manufacturing processes
- Support internal control procedures by following established protocols and contributing to process improvements
- Utilize SAP (or comparable ERP system) for transactional processing and financial reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy
- Assist with audits and provide supporting schedules and documentation as needed
- Serve as a resource to lower-level accounting staff, offering guidance and reviewing work when necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting – required
- Familiarity with internal controls and GAAP compliance – good to have
- Proficient with SAP – strongly preferred; other large ERP systems acceptable
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to mentor and support junior accounting team members
