Accounting Manager – Framingham, MA
A leading global enterprise with operations across multiple international locations. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our corporate accounting team. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of our complex global consolidations and financial reporting, utilizing the power of SAP. The successful candidate will lead a small, high-performing team and play a critical part in our month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Consolidations:
- Manage the end-to-end global financial consolidation process for all international subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with IFRS (or US GAAP) and local statutory requirements.
- Oversee intercompany transaction accounting and elimination processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of consolidated financial statements.
- Reconciliations & Analysis:
- Direct and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations, particularly for high-volume intercompany and foreign currency accounts.
- Perform detailed financial analysis on consolidated results, identifying and explaining significant variances.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate team workload and manage deadlines to meet the demanding requirements of a multinational close cycle.
- System & Process Expertise:
- Act as a key user and subject matter expert for financial modules within SAP
- Identify and implement process improvements within the consolidation and reconciliation cycles to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Compliance & Audit:
- Support internal and external audits by providing comprehensive documentation and analysis for consolidations and key reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies across all international entities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on multi-currency global consolidations within a large, international company.
- Minimum of 2+ years of direct experience managing or supervising a team.
- Mandatory: Expert-level proficiency with SAP (or similar large-scale ERP) is required.
- Skills:
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and international accounting standards.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for interacting with all levels of management and international finance teams.
