Payroll Admin (Manufacturing company)

A manufacturing payroll admin in Bloomfield, CT, is responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Key duties include calculating wages and deductions, managing payroll software, reconciling timekeeping records, and handling employee inquiries. They will also support with benefits administration, tax filings, year-end processing, and audits.

Pay range $25-27/hour with a schedule of 8am – 5pm Mon-Fri

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely process payroll for employees, which includes calculating gross wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Review and reconcile employee timekeeping records, and maintain confidential and accurate payroll files.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholdings and benefit deductions.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries and provide support for issues concerning pay, benefits, and deductions.
  • Generate, review, and submit various payroll reports, including tax filings, employee earnings statements, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on benefits administration (e.g., 401k) and assist with year-end processing, including W-2 forms.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits by providing necessary records and documentation.

Qualifications and skills

  • Prior experience in payroll processing is essential.
  • Experience processing W2 and 1099 employees is key to success in this position
  • Proficiency with payroll software is critical, as is a strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
