About the Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Data Vault Builder to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale Data Vault solutions supporting analytical and operational data needs. This is a hands-on technical position focused on architecting and optimizing Raw Vault, Business Vault, and Info Mart layers using Data Vault 2.0 methodologies.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned data professional with deep expertise in VaultSpeed (or WhereScape 3D), strong SQL skills, and a solid understanding of data modeling, lineage, and performance optimization—particularly within Snowflake environments.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Raw Vault components (hubs, links, satellites) using VaultSpeed or similar tooling.

Develop and optimize Business Vault and Info Mart layers to support analytics and reporting.

Implement efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, views, stored procedures, and VaultSpeed-generated code.

Translate mapping documents and business rules into scalable Data Vault models.

Apply CDC (Change Data Capture) and SCD Type 2 logic for historical tracking.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune data pipeline performance across all vault layers.

Profile and validate source data for design alignment and accuracy.

Create clear technical documentation and data flow diagrams from source through vault layers.

Ensure compliance with data governance and metadata standards.

Collaborate closely with data architects, business SMEs, and analytics teams to ensure business alignment.
Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data warehousing.

Proven expertise building and maintaining all layers of the Data Vault (Raw, Business, and Info Mart).

Proficiency with VaultSpeed or WhereScape 3D (and willingness to complete VaultSpeed training).

Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.

Experience designing and implementing Star Schema / Dimensional Models.

Strong understanding of data lineage, governance, and metadata management.

Hands-on experience in Snowflake environments.

Proficiency in erwin or similar data modeling tools.

Ability to provide occasional off-hours support as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Data Vault Certified Professional (DVCP) 2.1 certification.

Experience integrating with BI or self-service analytics tools.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Strong communication skills and ability to document complex data flows for both technical and business audiences.
