Summary
A rapidly growing medical device company, known for innovation in its field, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving quality, on-time delivery, safety, productivity, and implementing continuous improvement through the incorporation of Lean techniques across all operational functions.

Key Essential Functions (Anonymized)
The incumbent will lead and provide strategic direction to the operations team, which includes production, supply chain, and manufacturing engineering groups, to meet total manufacturing requirements.

  • Strategy & Growth: Develop high-level goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives to support business growth, including cost reductions, capacity increases, and improved margins. Set priorities for project efforts and conflicting needs.
  • Operational Leadership: Ready the organization for product introductions, partnerships, and acquisitions. Develop and implement plans for adding additional production lines and evaluate the engagement of contract manufacturers to enhance output.
  • Technology & Improvement: Seek out and incorporate the latest manufacturing technologies into the production process. Develop and execute on Lean and continuous improvement activities.
  • Performance & Metrics: Monitor and guide teams to achieve delivery of high-quality products (performance, reliability, cost, and on-time delivery). Provide and analyze operational metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, inventory levels, OEE) and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Compliance & Risk: Partner with the Quality and Regulatory leadership to ensure operations are compliant with all regulations. Ensure the organization updates procedures and policies to meet changing regulatory requirements and effectively executes risk mitigations.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage expenditures to meet financial goals. Develop and monitor spending for all operations departments and develop capital spending plans to maximize production performance.
  • Safety: Responsible for overseeing safety and environmental requirements for the facility.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. An Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Engineering experience in the medical device industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in assembly manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) is a plus.
  • Skills: Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
