Position Summary: The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting activities for the manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP, and sound financial management. This role will play a key leadership part in budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting while developing strong teams and optimizing financial processes through ERP systems (preferably SAP). Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and operational performance metrics.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with business and operations teams.
Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management for performance improvement.
Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making.
Cost & Inventory Accounting
Manage cost accounting functions, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost controls.
Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting, ensuring accuracy across all production sites.
Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
Audit & Compliance
Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Maintain strong internal controls and documentation to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Team Leadership
Build, develop, and supervise a high-performing accounting and finance team.
Provide mentoring, training, and performance management to support professional growth.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
ERP Systems & Process Improvement
Serve as a key leader in the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the ERP system (preferably SAP).
Streamline financial processes and reporting through automation and system enhancements.
Partner with IT and operations to ensure data integrity and cross-functional efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and external audit coordination.
Proven experience building and leading finance teams.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
