Shift Supervisor

Position Overview
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading employees  to ensure daily production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MES systems experience a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and assign employees to meet daily production needs.
  • Oversee production activities to ensure work orders and product specifications are followed accurately.
  • Verify all start-ups are completed according to work tickets and job setups (including pallet layout).
  • Maintain the production schedule to meet customer requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Manage personnel breaks and ensure adequate coverage across all areas.
  • Deliver materials and supplies to production cells as needed.
  • Monitor and update production data in the MES system.
  • Set up new hires in the time clock and perform basic timecard reviews and corrections.
  • Complete accident and incident reports promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain inventory control by reviewing daily raw material needs to meet production requirements.
  • Observe and communicate with machine operators to ensure productivity targets are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and personnel issues in real time.
  • Provide on-the-job training and monitor employee development.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Manufacturing and/or Production Manager.
  • Ensure smooth shift handoffs through detailed communication with the incoming Group Leader.
  • Promote and enforce all safety and housekeeping policies, including accident reporting and workplace cleanliness.
  • Conduct regular employee performance evaluations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
