Medical Assistant @ Family Medicine/Primary Care Practice
*Female candidates only please – the MA acts as a chaperone in the room when male providers perform pap smears and breast exams

Type: Temp-to-perm

Interview: In-person with Anastasia (Practice Manager)

Interview Prep:

  • Come prepared to talk in detail about past experiences
  • Manager will ask situational questions (i.e. how to do intramuscular vs. subcutaneous shits, how to do BPs, etc.)
  • Manager will ask specifics about types of injections administered in previous roles
  • Manager will ask about work history and reasons for leaving previous roles – it is important not to overshare and to keep things neutral (i.e. Left due to absence of leadership, felt it wasn’t a place I could thrive, etc.)

Onboarding: CORI, covid (no boost), MMR, varicella, Hep B, TB
Location: 24 Lyman Street, Westborough, MA 01581
Temp Pay: $25-28/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8:30AM – 5:00PM
Overtime available – practice is open until 8:00PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday OR can work 12PM-8PM

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • MA Certification required
  • EMR experience is required – practice utilizes E-MDs
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with managed care plan requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment in dealing with sensitive, confidential information
  • Operational, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist providers with dressing changes using sterile techniques
  • Perform phlebotomy and EKGs
  • Administer injections and immunizations
  • Maintain and care for equipment and environment according to JCAHO requirements
  • Maintain the oversight of lab tracking system within the unit
  • Assist with the orientation of new staff members as well as training of appropriate staff for the implementation of new tests and/or procedures
  • Responsible for more complex procedures and job duties as directed
  • Perform all other related duties to maintain the operational integrity of the practice
