Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Credit Analyst with strong experience in commercial credit underwriting within a banking environment. This role supports loan officers and relationship managers by analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and preparing credit approval packages for commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite commercial credit requests, including new loans, renewals, modifications, and extensions
- Perform detailed financial analysis of borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral
- Prepare clear, well-structured credit memorandums and risk assessments for approval committees
- Evaluate industry trends, borrower performance, and overall credit risk
- Ensure credit analysis and underwriting comply with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and sound lending practices
- Partner with relationship managers, loan operations, and risk teams to support timely deal execution
- Assist with portfolio monitoring, covenant tracking, and ongoing credit reviews
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Credit Analyst within a bank
- Strong commercial credit underwriting experience
- Solid understanding of commercial loan structures, financial statement analysis, and cash-flow lending
- Ability to communicate credit decisions and risks clearly, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- CRC (Credit Risk Certification) – highly valued but not required
- Experience with nCino – a plus, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Experience working with C&I, CRE, or mixed commercial portfolios
