Warehouse Associate

Responsibilities

  • Use barcode scanners and inventory management systems to manage product flow

  • Operate computerized weight-count scales and label printers

  • Pack and label products for shipment according to detailed instructions

  • Load and unload trucks and break down large lots into smaller quantities

  • Utilize warehouse tools and machinery while adhering to safety and quality standards

  • Use the warehouse management system (WMS) to manage inventory records

  • Perform inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and quality checks

  • Review and fulfill open customer orders to meet shipping schedules

  • Assemble shipping documentation and prepare boxes, skids, and pallets with appropriate labels

  • Notify management of issues related to overages, shortages, or product quality

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with customers and sales representatives, addressing questions and concerns

  • Execute warehouse initiatives to improve processes and productivity

  • Handle special shipments and expedite freight as needed

  • Drive a box truck for product deliveries, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures (drivers only)

  • Assist with annual inventory counts and manage inventory levels through stock transfers

  • Read and interpret inventory transaction records to locate orders

  • Perform all work in accordance with written standard operating procedures and work instructions

  • Maintain high-quality inventory control standards to support audits

  • Ensure accurate communication, documentation, and follow-through for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) projects using designated project management tools

  • Perform special handling of all “HOT” freight items

  • Assist team members in maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods

  • Current forklift operator license/certification required; prior forklift safety certifications preferred

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills
