Director of Human Resources
Location: North Shore, MA (Fully On-site)
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 + Bonus
Position Overview
The Director of Human Resources will serve as a hands-on leader and strategic partner for a single-site, precision sheet metal manufacturing organization. Reporting to the CEO, this individual will oversee the entire HR function, drive culture change, and ensure compliance across the organization. This is a high-touch role requiring daily engagement with all levels of the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the executive leadership team (CEO, CFO, COO) to develop HR strategies that support growth, operational performance, and company culture.
- HR Operations: Manage a small team, including two part-time HR employees, to oversee recruiting, compliance, benefits, and payroll.
- Talent Management: Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession management to ensure organizational agility.
- Employee Relations: Foster an inclusive culture focused on safety, quality, and open communication while managing conflict resolution and internal investigations.
- Performance & Training: Lead annual review processes and coordinate safety and compliance training in line with EHS regulations.
- Compliance & Benefits: Administer competitive compensation and benefits programs while ensuring adherence to federal and Massachusetts state labor laws.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Industry: Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required; Master’s or HR certification (SHRM-SCP/SPHR) preferred.
- Skills: Deep knowledge of Massachusetts labor laws and a proven ability to influence leadership while maintaining approachability for all staff.
