IT Auditor

Responsibilities

  • Lead moderate-to-complex systems and business application audits through the audit phases of planning, technical analysis and testing, and closing.
  • Plan and identify audit scope and objectives, develop suitable risk-based and compliance-based test approaches and proficiently execute moderately difficult audits, primarily of IT applications, networks, environments, systems, and associated controls.
  • Under limited supervision, simultaneously accomplish multiple audit assignments by applying advanced critical thinking skills, data analytics, and professional auditing principles and practices.
  • Independently investigate audit test deviations, identify exceptions with supporting evidence, document audit results, develop remedial recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepare audit/project related materials in accordance with department standards.
  • Independently communicate audit results to applicable audience(s).
  • Provide feedback and proactive guidance to less experienced coworkers on work product and effort.
  • Identify and propose project efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications  
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university in Data Analytics, Cyber Security, IT/Computer Science related, Accounting, or Finance preferred.  Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Professional certification is preferred.
 
 
8 or more years of analytical or applicable IT experience required, such as in the areas of security, privacy, configuration, continuity, and controls.  Audit experience preferred but not required.
 
 
  • Ability to work effectively individually or in a team environment to accomplish project goals and promote collaboration of ideas.
  • Knowledge and understanding of insurance acumen.
  • Ability to understand and concisely document business or system operations through development of process narratives and flowcharts.
  • Strong analytical skills in data collection and assessment to identify areas of risk or non-compliance and understand cause and effect.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively express audit results in verbal and written format to auditees and successfully achieve agreement on action plans.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively organize and prioritize assignments and tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Outlook
  • PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
