Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Loan Processor to support residential real estate lending from application through closing. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mortgage loan processing within a bank or credit union environment, is highly knowledgeable in secondary market guidelines, and is comfortable working in a fully digital, paperless environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Process residential real estate mortgage loans from application to closing in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Review and verify loan applications, credit reports, income documentation, appraisals, and title work
  • Ensure loans meet secondary market guidelines, including Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae requirements
  • Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, attorneys, and third parties to obtain required documentation
  • Prepare and submit complete loan files for underwriting and respond to conditions in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan files within loan origination systems and document management platforms
  • Monitor loan timelines to ensure on-time closings
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and investor regulations

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of real estate mortgage loan processing experience
  • Prior experience working within a bank or credit union
  • Strong understanding of secondary market guidelines and secondary mortgage processing
  • Hands-on experience with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan requirements
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems and mortgage-related software
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technology in a paperless environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with conventional, conforming, and secondary market loans
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards affecting mortgage lending
  • Ability to manage multiple loans simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative team environment supporting lending, underwriting, and closing functions
