Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment for entry-level and hourly manufacturing roles, with a primary focus on plastic manufacturing operators, production associates, and related shop-floor positions.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience recruiting in a manufacturing or industrial environment, is comfortable working directly on the production floor, and is fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively engage a diverse workforce.
Essential Job Functions:
High-Volume Manufacturing Recruitment
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for entry-level manufacturing roles, including Production Operators, Assemblers, Packers, Material Handlers, and similar positions
- Support hiring across multiple shifts (days, nights, weekends as needed)
- Conduct high-volume screening, interviewing, and candidate coordination
Bilingual Candidate Engagement
- Communicate fluently in English and Spanish with candidates, employees, staffing partners, and supervisors
- Conduct interviews, orientations, and hiring communications in both languages
- Support bilingual onboarding and hiring documentation as needed
Plant & Hiring Manager Partnership
- Partner with plant leadership and supervisors to understand staffing needs, shift coverage, and workforce planning
- Provide guidance on hiring strategies, candidate availability, and local labor market conditions
- Attend production floor meetings and maintain a visible presence in the plant
Sourcing & Recruiting Strategy
- Source candidates through job boards, walk-ins, referrals, local community partnerships, and staffing agencies
- Support hiring events, job fairs, and community outreach efforts
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified manufacturing candidates
Hiring Process & Compliance
- Coordinate background checks, drug screens, I-9 verification, and pre-employment requirements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and hiring practices
- Maintain accurate recruiting data, tracking, and reporting
Onboarding & Retention Support
- Partner with HR and Operations to ensure smooth onboarding and first-day readiness
- Support retention efforts by identifying recruiting trends, turnover drivers, and improvement opportunities
- Assist with employee referrals and internal mobility initiatives
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recruiting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or production environment
- Proven experience hiring entry-level or hourly manufacturing roles
- Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Experience supporting high-volume hiring and fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Comfortable working on the production floor and interacting directly with operators and supervisors
- Experience recruiting in plastic manufacturing, injection molding, or similar production environments is preferred
- Familiarity with shift-based workforces
- Experience working with staffing agencies and temp-to-hire programs
- ATS or HRIS experience (Paycor, Paychex, Workday, or similar systems)
