Medical Assistant
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Float Location: Dartmouth, MA (Primary), Fall River (2 offices here), Fairhaven, and Wareham
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Responsibilities
- Assist providers with direct patient care and clinical procedures.
- Perform manual blood pressure readings and 12?lead EKGs (required).
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Communicate with patients via phone regarding test results, procedure instructions, surgery scheduling, and follow?up, under supervision.
- Document and retrieve patient information using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical teams to ensure high?quality care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 2–3 years of relevant medical office experience.
- National Medical Assistant Certification (AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA – NHA, or NCMA – NCCT):
- Required within 13 months of hire, OR Candidates with 3+ years of primary care experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience using an EMR system preferred.
- Fluency in a second language and medical interpreting experience preferred.
