Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Pay: $55,000 – $68,000 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Standard business hours
Work Type: Full-time | On-site

Overview

Our client in Bridgeport, Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and maintain accurate accounting records. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the selected candidate will be hired directly by our client.

The Bookkeeper will play an important role in supporting our client’s accounting function by overseeing financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with payroll and financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Records

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions

  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries

  • Assist with account reconciliations

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Process vendor invoices and payments

  • Track incoming payments and maintain accurate billing records

Payroll & Reporting

  • Assist with payroll processing

  • Support preparation of financial reports

  • Assist with tax documentation and reporting

Administrative & Accounting Support

  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation

  • Support our client’s accounting team with general financial tasks

  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive financial information


Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience or a similar accounting role

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

Technical Skills

  • Experience with accounting software and financial systems

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Experience working with spreadsheets and financial tracking tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
