Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Vascular Surgery

Location: Bronx and Bronxville, NY (potential to float to an additional Westchester location in the future)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30/9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to vary)
Salary: $135,000 – $150,000

A growing outpatient vascular surgery practice is seeking an independent Nurse Practitioner to join its clinical team. This role focuses on managing vascular surgery patients in a fully outpatient setting while working closely with board-certified vascular surgeons in a collaborative care model.

Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage patients with vascular conditions, perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care alongside vascular surgeons and other clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations

  • Assess presenting symptoms, risk factors, family history, and psychosocial factors

  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests

  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians

  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols

  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventative care

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Provide follow-up care and ongoing health maintenance for vascular surgery patients

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

  • Assist with triaging patient calls and coordinating care between visits

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license and Registered Nurse license

  • Board certification through ANCC or AANP

  • Ability to practice independently in New York State

  • Prior clinical experience required; new graduates will not be considered

  • DEA license (or eligibility) in New York State

  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

  • Ability to independently manage patient evaluations and treatment plans within a collaborative practice model

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in vascular surgery, cardiology, surgical specialties, or related outpatient specialty care
