Absence Management Coordinator

Higher Education University seeking:

FMLA & LOA focused Benefits Coordinator 
New Haven, CT 

  • HYBRID
    • 2 Days in Office (Routinely –  Wednesday / Thursday)
    • 3 days Home (Mon / Tues / Fri)
  • 8:30 am – 5:00 pm hours in office & home 
  • PAY – Ranging anywhere from $30/hr – $40/hr depending on experience 

Looking for:  

  • MUST have HR / benefits / leaves & long term absence / disability experience
  • SHOULD have experience with federal and state regulations when it comes to FMLA & LOA claims
  • This candidate and this team is the first point of contact when internal company employees have questions or need to start the process on long term absences OR managers are seeking answers if an employee has been out for extended period of time 
  • Candidate will hand high volume of absence-related tickets coming in that need to be addressed
  • PLUS – Coming from large employer (ideally 1,000 + employees)  
  • Intangible characteristics they look for: Adaptability / Coachable / Working independently
  • The individual will play a key role in resolving or escalating issues, and managing and resolving incoming leave related tickets
  • Provide clear communication to employees and department heads on ticket statuses and resolutions.
  • Workday and / or Salesforce experience a plus
