One of our top clients is looking to add an Accountant to the team!  This role will focus on general accounting activities for the company, and involved in AP, AR, and GL duties.

Schedule: Hybrid/Remote depending on candidate preferences  
HQ is in North Kingstown, RI

Job Summary
Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes for the company.  Provides assistance to the Controller in managing the accounting operations of the organization.  Interact with different functional departments to either obtain or provide requested information.  Basic knowledge of cost accounting.  Work with individuals remotely, possibly in different time zones, to gather information and complete tasks.  Participate in the month, quarter and year end closing processes.

Job Duties
Control over the Accounts Receivable and participates in the Accounts Payable processes.  Contacting both customers and vendors as needed.  Review bank activity and record customer payments.  Prepare weekly reports for management and owners.  Assists the Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.  Prepares financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.    Assists in ad hoc analyses of the organization’s finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making.  Administers internal controls and audits of policies and procedures meant to preserve the organization’s assets.
Experience and Education
Serves as leader of authority with expert-level knowledge in one or more areas.  Makes decisions and recommendations.  Plans, organizes, and guides projects with fellow employees.  Performs work under minimal supervision.  Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.  Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.  May act as a lead.  Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 to 5 years of experience.  A master’s degree, CPA license or CPA candidate may be preferred.
